Norma
Counce began longarm quilting in September 1979
with the purchase of her first quilting machine.
The necessity for good, interlocking, simple
quilting designs led to her first original
continuous line design, the Rose Vine. Operating
as Norma’s Quilt Shop, Norma began to produce
her designs by hand for distribution in 1982.
Demand for her designs led to the implementation
of equipment to mass-produce. Norma’s Quilt Shop
formally became Simple Quilting Stitches in
1990. Norma is certified as a National Quilting
Association teacher, is a founding member of
International Machine Quilters Association, Sew
Busy Quilt Guild, Northeast Arkansas Quilt Arts
Guild, Wirth It All Sewing Group and is also a
member of American Quilters Society and National
Quilters Association. Norma received the
Lifetime Achievement award from the Machine
Quilters Showcase/IMQA in 2002. |
